Mattias Sjodin

My name is Mattias Sjödin – currently living and working in the mid part of Sweden as an Information Security Specialist. I’m also Head of Information Security within a Swedish managed service provider.

I have been working in the IT industry for more then 20 years, and I still love it. I come from the technical side and perspective, aside from IT tech I have also been working with various security matters for many years. It’s been withIT security such as firewalls, VPN’s, AV and so on. Physical security like perimeter protection, burglar alarm protection, EAC etc. All together overall Information Security having extremely good use of all the experience I got myself during the years.

I manage the Information Security parts of a management system built up according to several standards. Among them ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013. The management system is of course fully certified against these standards as well. To be honest, structured and process-oriented security work isn’t something I have lots and lots of experience from – I have been doing that since end of 2014, having the system certified in early 2016. I have learned a lot ever since, and having the security background is a huge asset.

I finally manged to put a blog together and getting it online. I have been giving it quite some thoughts for a while, I really do believe that I can offer some value out there to the ones interested in security.

The main reason why I post into this blog is to help others to get more secure by sharing my thoughts and challenges. The world is changing in a such rapid pace that it’s a always ongoing struggle keeping up with “the bad guys”.

I really encourage you to comment on what I write – no matter if it’s positive feedback or if you have any thoughts on where I’m wrong. Or if you want me to develop some thought… Gladly appreciated!
